Sinner´s Circle

The Sinner's Circle is often used to illustrate the principles of cleaning. The various sections in the circle represent the interrelated factors necessary for cleaning—mechanical action, chemistry, temperature, and time. Different solutions create “slices” of varying sizes, but they are always in a fixed relationship with each other.

For example, one can imagine that very high temperatures result in a relatively smaller need for time, chemistry, or mechanical work. Or that large amounts of chemistry similarly reduce the need for one or more other factors.

Consequently, if one increases or decreases one “slice,” the others must necessarily increase or decrease in size. The reasoning is flawless and rational— but only in the domain of chemical solutions. Biotechnology fundamentally changes the conditions.

This happens in several ways:

Chemistry

Biotechnology reduces the need for chemical solutions. Phasing out chemicals is a core driver for Pure Effect, contributing immediately and powerfully to a better environment. It's our most important contribution. When “chemistry's slice” is replaced with biotechnology, the conditions for all other factors change. Biotechnology radically transforms the cleaning method and our understanding of deep cleaning.

Temperature

Biotechnology means cleaning products contain live bacterial cultures and their enzymes. These are only effective at relatively low temperatures since high temperatures destroy both cells and their products.

Time

Living bacterial cultures break down dirt actively, continuously secreting enzymes that are essential for decomposition. This extends the cleaning effect even after the procedure is completed.

Mechanics

While physical scrubbing is always necessary, a bacterial culture cleans in hard-to-reach places, cracks, crevices, and fabric fibers. The "passive" work of microorganisms provides deep, long-lasting cleaning.
